Need some help! Close the distance UK

Would like to know if somebody could me in my situation. Settled down in the UK, and working here but not british. Originally from Switzerland.
If my lover is in Turkey, studying and would like to join me in the UK, either for studies or work....

How does it work ? In terms of visa authorisation and possibilities....
Some of you might have some tips to close our distance which is projected for summer 2015 :-)

    Thanks loads.

Im reading that Turkey is both in Asia and Europe (on Anatolia in Western Asia, and on East Thrace in Southeastern Europe), you have to see in which part lives your SO.
Between European states is more simple to move, and most of the times you don't have to take a Visa to move to another European state (like I wouldn't have to do if I ever moved in Romania, where my SO is.)
But if he's in the Asian part, things could be a bit harder.
I think you can find everything you need here: https://www.gov.uk/

I'm sorry, but that information is incorrect. Turkey is not part of the European Union, like your country and Romania, therefore getting a visa to move to the UK is certainly required, a Turkish citizen cannot just move to an EU member state. Where the landmass is doesn't matter, they aren't an EU state. More info can be found here: https://europa.eu/about-eu/countries/member-countries/index_en.htm

Oh I didn't know, fortunately you've seen my comment and correct it.

Like Moon said he will need a VISA as he isn't part of the EU. But to get a more clarified, UK Government answer they have this generator on their website which helps determines if each individual needs one. You put your partners circumstances/information in each drop down box and then it'll give you a clarified answer and the information for the next steps you'll need to take: https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa
