For the rest of June, I plan on only drinking water for my liquids and eating under 1,000 calories/day. I'm cutting out a lot of gluten and sugar!
The first week is always the hardest, so I'm ready to plow through!

I weighed myself this morning, and found out I gained 2.5 pounds from the last time I weighed myself. I now stand at 193.5 pounds.
My mom found this program through our health insurance that offers coaching and other stuff to help me on my quest. We're probably going to do it together because we both fluctuate.

I'm really full right now because I just drank two 8 oz. glasses of 2% milk with 3 tablespoons of Ovaltine chocolate mix in each glass. I also had an apple after I woke up and got ready. Right now, I'm just sipping at a water bottle. I'm not totally sure what I'm going to eat for dinner, but it's probably going to be Indian food that my mom is making. I don't think it's that bad because it's just cooked vegetables really.
I'm really new to dieting, so I'm not too sure what I should be eating and what I shouldn't be eating. I heard skim milk is good, but my mom only buys 2%, so I feel like it should be alright.

I ended up eating chicken for dinner, but just 30 minutes ago, I started feeling sick...and it's not going away. I threw up everything I ate all day. D:

So last night was not very fun. I was sick for a good 5-6 hours and in the end I was starving, so I ate whatever I could get my hands on. I know!!! I'm so bad. D: But mistakes made, and lessons learned!

Also, I think I might be partially lactose intolerant. I had about 16 oz. of milk and I felt sick after that. I went to Giant and bought dried milk, which I drank while I was at school. It settles better, I think.
The elliptical isn't up yet, but we only have to put one more leg on and then the rest is just cosmetics.

So far, I only had an apple and a bottle of water. I have to babysit soon so I'll probably grab a banana and eat lunch when I get back at 1:30.

Thank you all for your suggestions and opinions! I want to do this properly, so it's nice to have support!

So I think I'm going to update this once a week, just because everything is going to be the same. Fruits and vegetables, plus exercise. It gets kinda boring after awhile, but I'm getting there! I literally ate so much today! D: I started off with strawberries, and then I ate everything else. We did put up the elliptical, however! I used to do it everyday in college, so I was like 40 minutes is nothing! I died within 10 minutes. Literally.
My best friend and I are going to do the insanity workout and the couch to 5k program together! She's smaller than I am, but we're both in need of shaping up, and what better way to do it than with someone you can look stupid together with. :P
I also think I'm going to post a few things about my preparations to close the distance! It's a great goal to work towards and why not reward myself with boring you all about kitchenware :P But I will only do it, if I was good for the week!

Today kinda sucked as far as being good goes, so I'm going to make up for it tomorrow

Thank you again for all the support! I seriously thought about this because so many of you have done amazing!!! And I want to say I was apart of that! I love you guys! <3

For some reason, I've been feeling really sick. The last couple of weeks have sucked and it's just getting worse. It starts in the morning and by 5:00 PM it's really awful. I don't know why, but it's really curbing my hunger. I went to the doctor's and they said it was just stress, but I feel like I'm going to throw up.

I've been doing really well guys! I watch what I eat and have been sticking to whole wheat, vegetables, fruits, and the occasional ice cream pop.

I'm getting over a cold, so it's hard to breathe but I'm getting by.

I don't know if this is a good idea, but I've ordered metabolism enhancer diet pills to help out. I've come to learn that I have a slower metabolism so I don't burn off what I eat as quickly. I've been doing the elliptical twice a day, and I can feel my energy levels going up!

For an inactive day perhaps, I could foresee 1200 calories, but if you're doing any physical activity I would really aim for the 1400-1800 mark! I NEVER advise "dieting" per se, because it does not produce long term results. It would be extremely difficult and unhealthy for a person to maintain eating 1200 calories a day for the rest of his or her life... The reason most diets fail is the assumption that one can simply return to his or her old eating habits and therefore undoing all the restricting he or she just put himself or herself through! Diets aren't maintainable. Therefore, neither is the weight loss produced by them.
What does this mean, then? Look at it as the journey to changing unhealthy habits. Which is never easy, and any body who has ever tried to lose weight can tell you this. But if you TRULY want to be a healthier version of yourself, then it's worth it. Honestly, the internet is full of terrible, terrible dieting advice. BUT, it is also a wealth of powerful weight loss information! If you're serious about it, I'd start looking at things like BMR (it's science - burn more than you consume, lose weight). There are A LOT of powerful apps/online trackers, and if you're going the calorie counting route, Myfitnesspal is incredibly resourceful! When I first started my fitness journey, Myfitnesspal really opened my eyes to what I was ACTUALLY putting into my body. I also am addicted to Tumblring delicious and healthy recipes. Heh.
As far as tips go, don't weigh yourself every day. For real. Especially if you're exercising, the tape measure will forever be a more accurate way to determine progress! There will be months the number on the scale is stagnant, unchanging. But after I befriended the tape measure, I realized I was still making progress because I was still losing inches off my arms, my tummy, my thighs. Focus on non scale victories, like how that dress fits, or how you FEEL; how you feel is, in my opinion, the most important part.
Also... I believe in balance. And if that means eating that piece of cake, then eat it. Making certain foods permanently "off limits" can lead to bingeing on said foods later. And lots and lots of unnecessary guilt.
OH. And one last thing... I've done some research on that "not eating at night" thing and have come to the conclusion if you are burning more than you consume, then it doesn't matter when you consume said consumption. But that makes sense, doesn't it?
