Wow it's been so long since I was last here. It'll take me ages to catch up with everyone's news.
Here's what's been going on with me:
  • We closed the distance in January 2016 and have been living together for over a year.
  • The adjustment to living together went surprisingly smooth, we both expected to struggle more but we've managed quite well actually and our partnership grew stronger. We're very happy together
  • I was lucky in that I was able to keep my job, and it gives me the best of both worlds. I can build a life with my husband in his home country but my job links me to my home country, so I can travel home when I need/want to without having to take time off.
  • I'm 18 weeks pregnant with our first child! For a long time we were both sure we didn't want children. Then as we built our nest we started talking about the possibility of having a child. We eventually decided to give it a try and see what happens. It actually happened very quickly - we were kind of taken aback, but we're both very happy and excited about the new addition to the family.
  • I've had an easy pregnancy so far, without any nausea, just occasional bouts of exhaustion and some acid reflux in the last couple of days - but overall I feel fine.
  • We don't know the sex yet, but will hopefully find out at the next scan in 3 weeks. Whatever it is it will be loved of course, but I'm still kind of hoping for a girl.
  • The only thing that still weighs on me is I will have to miss my brother's wedding as it's 3 weeks before my due date and I won't be allowed to fly anymore. I was heartbroken when I found out and I'm still so sad, but there is nothing I can do about it. My family, including my brother, are very understanding and they're happy for us.

Now back to reading up on you guys, I hope everyone's been doing well. Good luck and I hope your dreams come true soon if they haven't already
