I have 4 weeks left of my 6 1/2 week trip in the USA. Things have been pretty fun. My SO lives pretty far out of reach of anything and we have no transportation except for his step-dad who works out in the gulf of mexico on some oil rigs so the only time we have transport is when he comes in for a week off after every 2 weeks out.
So for the past week we have been up and about getting things done. We have been to the local mall, eaten out, gone swimming, traveled up to New Orleans to explore the French Quarter which was amazing and yesterday we headed back to New Orleans to City Park where we explored the Botanical Garden and then played Mini-Golf.
Unfortunately, being from a country that never really experiences much heat the day ended up being far too hot. By the time I realised I was too hot I felt dizzy...about 2 minutes later after struggling to get to the air conditioned area, my eye sight went and I passed out ><
Thankfully my SO's step-dad used to be a first responder with the red cross so he managed to sort me out before anything for serious happened and I felt fine after some ice, water and a lovely little throw up that my SO saw (not a high point in my life).
My SO's step-dad is about to head back on out to work and I think the next time he comes back in we have a choice of the New Orleans zoo or aquarium. I want to go to the zoo but everyone is afraid to let me out in the heat again so we will probably end up going to the aquarium, which I guess is fine too because I like both, I would just prefer the zoo.
