I decided to be like the cool kids and write a blog Warning: This will be a ramble.

My recent visit consisted of essentially the best two weeks of my entire life. For the first week I went to New Jersey to visit my SO. We didn't really get to see each other that often. I was babysitting and shadowing a speech language pathologist. He was still in school and working full time. Unfortunately our jobs keep us out of our apartment at completely opposite times. He works at a restaurant so he works primarily from noon to late evening/early morning. I was shadowing at a private practice so I left the house at 6 or 7am most days. On the other days I babysat for my handicapped brother. My SO normally does the morning shift to pay for part of his rent but since my schedule was more free I did. That's 7am-9am and 2pm-whenever my parents get home. I also babysat for a friend's two children. But even though we were both busy, we were still able to go on one of our favorite dates: We go out to eat. We stop at Walmart on the way home and get a Redbox movie and frozen yogurt and candy. We then take everything home and watch the movie while eating fabulous frozen yogurt and candy creations! So we still had a good time

Now for the better visit For the second week my SO came down to Florida to be with me! He was able to go to school with me and meet my new friends. They all loved him which I am very happy about. We also were able to go to Buffalo Wild Wings (our favorite place and they have 60 cent wing Tuesdays!) and stroll on a boardwalk near the beach by my house.

But most importantly, we went on our surprise vacation!! Well obviously it wasn't a surprise to him, since he booked the whole thing. But it was a surprise to me! We woke up really early in the morning and got ready. He then drove my car (oh how nerve racking) and I wasn't allowed to look outside. I literally had to have a sweatshirt over my face so I couldn't see where we were going. But it turns out his efforts were in vain - the GPS gave away the location by saying "Turn right onto exit towards Epcot" and I went "OH MY GOD!" and squealed like a small child. He was mad but since I was so happy he got over it :P We then checked into our resort. He booked us for one night at the Coronado Springs Resort in Disneyworld, which is gorgeoussss. I've never stayed anywhere that nice before. My family normally stays at cheap hotels or camps. But we didn't see the room very much because we spent most of our time in the park. For the first day we went to Magic Kingdom. Now remember, this was my first time at Disney. So I was freaking out and excited the whole time. We went on a bunch of rides. The Pirates of the Caribbean ride was my favorite of that day. We got lunch at this cute colonial style restaurant. He also bought me Minnie Mouse ears (although I should have waited and got the bridal ears but I didn't know the proposal would definitely happen!) and he got R2D2 ears. We had so much fun

At 3pm it was time to leave the park and head back to the resort so we could get ready for our fancy dinner. My SO went for a dip in the pool while I got ready since he's a guy and can get ready super quickly. I decided to make the final look special. I closed the doors to the sink area after I did my hair and makeup and got my dress and shoes on. I then said "Drumroll please" and opened the door while looking all special. He was like "WOAH" He loved the dress! I was so happy

We ended up leaving a little bit late for our dinner and then getting lost. We were late for our reservation but it turns out it was okay. We pulled up to the Grand Floridian and the valet parked the car (free valet parking if you eat in their fancy restaurant!). We ate a restaurant called Victoria & Albert's. It was spectacular. I have never felt so pampered in my life. They brought me an ottoman looking thing for my clutch - my clutch that I got for $3 at Goodwill. It was sort of hilarious but awesome. Everything on the menu was to die for. It was a really expensive dinner - I felt bad when my SO got the bill and basically insisted that I pay the tip (which is what we normally do when we go out to dinner since he makes more than I do). But I would totally go again - we had a fantastic time and I felt like a princess.

Then we went back to the resort to change and get ready for the fireworks in Magic Kingdom! When we got to Magic Kingdom my SO insisted that we stand all the way up front right near the castle. I didn't understand it at the time - I kept saying we should stop fighting the crowds and just stand wherever. But now I understand why my SO was so insistent. We were able to stand really close to the castle and watched the fireworks. Of course that is when he proposed It was a magical moment. A couple saw the proposal and congratulated us after the fireworks were over and took a few pictures for us, which was really sweet of them. My SO also snapped a quick pic of me showing off the ring and posted it on Facebook with the caption of "See this beautiful girl? I'm going to make her my wife" which was adorable. We then went back to the hotel so we could call our families, change our Facebook relationship statuses (which was extremely important to my SO because he had been planning this proposal for 3 months and wanted to let everyone know it went well!), and have some adult fun time :P

The next morning we got up and checked out of the resort. After hearing of our engagement, the concierge got us both "Just Engaged" pins to wear around the park and also gave us a certificate for a champagne toast (which thankfully doesn't expire so we can use it on our next trip since we're not 21!). We ventured over to Epcot and just had a great day. My SO was much more relaxed now that the proposal was out of the way :P And almost every employee congratulated us. I know they pretty much have to do that but it still made us really happy. We ate dinner in Germany (since my SO is German and I love German food!) and watched the Epcot fireworks, which are totally cool but not as romantic so I'm so glad my SO proposed at the Magic Kingdom fireworks!

We were completely exhausted when we got back to my house so we pretty much just rested for Sunday. We did take a stroll on the beach for a few minutes but it was really freaking cold and I had on shorts (it was a spontaneous beach trip) so we went home. We also talked about some preliminary wedding plans!

He left on Monday I was so sad to see him go (and cried a lot) but I'm so happy to know that one day he's going to be my husband and the only goodbyes we will say will be temporary. And hopefully on May 17th, 2014 that will be come a reality! That's what we are hoping the date will be but since we haven't talked to any venues we aren't sure yet.

I hope you enjoyed my visit recap! It's one long ramble but I did promise it to people (cough cough lyonsgirl cough).

Edit: Here are two photos! The first is from right after the proposal by another couple. They were so nice! My SO is holding my hand up because I'm still trembling and in shock :P
The second is the picture my SO posted on Facebook with the caption of "See this beautiful girl? I'm going to make her my wife" The camera sucks so my ring looks really cloudy - it's much more sparkly in real life!!

Edit again! I wanted to add a picture of the ring that actually showed off how sparkly it is. So today I was waiting at a stoplight (stoplights in Florida are crazy long) and got a pretty good picture! The sun is still hitting it in a weird way on one side but it does show how sparkly my diamond is
