Guest repliedMy mum and dad. They're very in sync. You can just see it after a long day at work, that first hug when whoever's home second gets in, the way my dad always says "hello" softly to my mum, they're happy.

I'm loving all your responses!
It's so great to see that such happy relationships do exist, despite many hardships and trials. I think that is what true love is all about

My Dad and his current wife, it has taken my Dad three times to get it right but he is finally so happy and it's good to see that even if you get it wrong the first time then there is still a chance to be happy.

Even though I don't really know them very well my (future) sister and brother in law have such a wonderful marriage it makes me look up to them.

I'm also going to say my grandparents. They both had a pretty tough youth after the second world war, and life never really became easy for them. They married when they were really young, but were always happy with each other. Around my grandma's 50th birthday she was diagnosed with MS. Everything just went downhill from there, and she's super stubborn. She still wants to do everything herself, but has to give up things one by one. She swore she would never sit in a wheelchair, but unfortunately that became her only way to get outside of the house. She's in constant pain and hates the disease deeply. My grandpa has stood by her side through all of it. He always cares for her, helps her with everything, and basically runs the household. It's just so beautiful to see how much they've loved each other all along, and they've been together for over almost 50 years already! So that's a couple I really look up to
ETA: I was born on my grandma's 50th birthday. We're turning 90 together in December, and I've always said I'm going to throw a great party when we turn 100 in five years. But I'm always afraid that she won't make it there. I know you can grow old with MS but it's hard. I just want to do something really special for her but I don't know how I can ever give back for all that she gave me throughout the years... But that's off topic.

Aw, what a lovely article. Thanks for sharing !
When I read the title of this thread, my nana and graddad came straight to my mind. They met and fell in love when my nana was only 15 and granddad was 22. Love at first sight, as he always said. They stood by each other through thick and thin until my nana passed away 4 years ago. It was difficult to see my granddad so heartbroken. The thought that they are together again now, wherever they may be, was the thing that comforted our family when granddad recently passed away as well. They were just meant to be.

That's a really sweet story about your grandparentsOriginally posted by Hollandia View PostI really like Bones and Booth. I think they had to work through a lot to get to where they are now and they finally have their happily ever after. They are the fictional one.
If real life, I would have to say my Nana and Pop-pop. He died when she was in her early fifties after 40 years together and she never ever thought about dating another man. She lived till the ripe old age of 99.

In real life I honestly only have one couple that I am happy to say my relationship is similar to.
My aunt and uncle, they met much older, but they are so damn perfect together, have a BLAST, and I can just see how much love they have for each other. Been together for 5 years and they are the goofiest, coolest, and most sickeningly cute couple I know.
My parents have been together forever, as have my other aunt and uncle, but I rarely see them get goofy, or laugh like crazy, or just have fun together. It could be because they have been together so long, and even though I think they are great relationships to look up to, I don't want mine to be like that.
It is one reason why I feel so lucky, because DB feels the same way, and we are more than certain our life together is going to be amazing!
