Star Festival
So I wanted to share a cute little story my SO told me. In Japan July 7th is Tanabata, the "Star Festival". It's the day were the stars Vega and Altair cross the milky way and meet, while being apart the rest of the year. Story says, that those two stars were actually the two lovers, Orihime and Hikoboshi. They got married and loved each other very much. They were in love so much, that they only had eyes for each other and all the work in heaven was left undone. Orihime's father, the god of the heavens, was so mad about this, that he seperated the two and banned Hikoboshi to live on the other side of the milky way. Orihime couldn't live without Hikoboshi and begged her father to see Hikoboshi again. Her father allowed them to meet just once a year, that's on Tanabata. So my SO said, we are like those two, we love each other, but we're apart. He also said that's why he wanted to be together on Tanabata, like the two stars.
