Pompous, that's what he calls his name. Pompous because it's French, because he has three middle names instead of one, and an American surname. He never uses his real name, I've said it only once since I know he hates it, but to be quite honest I love his name, since I found it out (he fed me a fake name the first time, a month later I found out it wasn't it) it's felt very befitting, though I couldn't ever say why.

I'm not sure who else does this, but I have a strange hobby with names and their meanings, seeing if they match the person with them. When I create characters for stories, I take great care in their names for the same reason. My full name means 'the weary/delicate princess of a tailor'. Well, my surname means 'to cut' but is a referral to tailors. I find, in a way, it's fitting, as I'm a tad bratty yet I'm from a poor background.

Last night I was mulling over this and realized I'd never thought to look up his name meaning, I suppose since the name itself sounds so refined I assumed it hailed from royalty or somesuch. What I found was the exact opposite as his first name means 'protector, soldier, of the army'. He's been in the military, he's a protective sort (father/brother complex), and is quite the fighter. Two of his middle names meant similar things along with a hint towards power, and the third simply meant 'dragon', which is another hint towards wealth (as dragons are known to produce and hoard treasure/gold) and power. The funniest thing was when I looked up his surname, it meant the same as mine. Looking further in, it's an Americanized version of my German surname. I'm not sure whether you can call that accidental incest or a strange way to be connected, but it fascinated me. So really he has no reason to hate his name as it's very befitting, if not long.

Thought I'd ramble instead of grumbling for once.
