Because.... why not? This weekend was actually sort of productive. I'm starting to get my butt outside and running again. I need it. I stepped on the scale again this morning for the first time in a month, and quickly decided I'm not going to do the scale game any more. I'm going to make an effort to eat better and get my butt out on the trail and at least walking. On Thursday Nix was a butthead and I was annoyed about it, so I went for a run. I was only going to do 2 miles.... ended up doing 4. And then I wasn't even sore the next day, what? Pushed myself and went out again on Saturday, but it was seriously like, 90 out (that's roughly 32 for everyone else that's not in the US...) and so I walked most of the way. Got 2.5 miles in because that's the loop I take. And then I laid by the pool and went for a little bit of a swim. Yay summer time!

That was all I basically did on Saturday. I worked on addressing more envelopes, and should have done laundry, but... I didn't. Ha! Sunday was church and then PetsMart (where I oogled over several adorable cats) so I could buy food for the babies. Then a trip to the craft store next door and I bought a pile of adhesives. A press'n'stick no-sew tape type thing for things like ribbon, which was exactly what I needed. And then permanent tape runners for the invitations. And then to one of the worst stores ever, WalMart. I hate going there, but sometimes it's a necessary evil, especially when I need to pick up a new litter box/litter, and some various cleaning supplies. (I didn't like any of the boxes at PetsMart, although, tbh, the WalMart selection was pretty sucky too.) I tried out this weird "no scoop" box. It's a 3 pan system, honestly, makes more of a mess than it's worth. So I'm going back to a "normal" box. And then I printed more envelopes, I'm ALL DONE except for 6 of them - 1 last name needs to be confirmed, as she got married and Nix doesn't know if she changed her name or not, and the other 5 are address confirmations. Silly people with their moving and things...

BUUUUUUUUUT, I also finished my veil last night!! I didn't finish until late, but it was so worth it. I love how it turned out, and it wasn't terribly expensive for all of the materials. Do you think I should bring it (and the hair comb) with me on my trip? I'm going to the salon where I'll be getting my hair done to get it cut and do a wedding hair consult, I thought it might be good if I brought them with me. (Plus I can't get a decent picture of it when it's on my head, so this way I can convince Nix to take a full picture of it, haha!)

So, the only things I have left to figure out for my wedding day attire are the jewelry I'll be wearing and then my underwear. I'm going to try and find a pair that's comfy AND cute. I do NOT want to deal with a wedgie when I'm walking down the aisle! How mortifying would that be? I still need to get my dress fitted, but I'm not going to worry about that until I know where I will be living prior to the wedding, no point in finding a seamstress and then being forced to move in the middle of the alterations. I need to order Nix's cufflinks soon... they're custom order from Etsy, and I want to make sure I have them way before October. The same goes for our "husband" and "wife" Converse. Oh yes. We're buying our wedding party Chucks to change into for the reception if they want, and we're ordering ourselves custom shoes. We'll get to wear them on our honeymoon! Or at least, I'm planning on wearing them a day or two on our trip. I'm hoping he will too. I know he likes Converse - he did agree (very excitedly, I might add) to these shoes.

Um... I think that's it. Oh! I'll be fairly MIA this Friday - Sunday.... I get to see Nix!!!!!!!!!! It's a little unreal that I haven't seen him since my birthday, which was nearly 2 months ago. It seems like it was both just a few days ago and yet forever ago. A very weird feeling, if you ask me. Hopefully when I return on Monday I will be able to say that the invitations are fully assembled, the pre-marital counseling went really well, my ring is gorgeous & fits perfectly, and that we have our first dance song picked out (and that we ordered our shoes). Here's hoping, right?
