I can't tell the one person I want to tell, because the surprise is for him. So I'm spilling my guts here instead.

I bought us tickets back in September for a concert this weekend in DC. It's for "The Washington Chorus: A Candlelight Christmas" and the show is sold out. We have amazing seats (1st tier, right in the middle in the 2nd row) and I booked us a hotel room for the weekend.

This morning I asked him, "If I buy stuff for Chex mix tonight, will you make it tomorrow? It's Christmas-time and you're the best Chex mix maker ever... and Chex mix is "christmas-y"." He agreed! Chex mix is also the BEST traveling snack. So he'll be making that tomorrow - and we'll be, unknown to him, packing some on Friday to take with us this weekend! Bwahahaha! Evil laughter.

Apparently the weather this weekend is supposed to be in the low 60's. THERE'S SNOW ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. Grrrr... I was hoping the snow would stay...... Oh well. It will actually be good, I think, so then we don't hate ourselves for walking around as much as I hope we will.

I asked him last night, while watching Bones (which has been EXCELLENT for me for this trip, because I can randomly ask him questions about DC and I don't think he suspects, since Bones is set in DC): "When we get the chance to finally go to DC, which monument do you *have* to go see?" "Um... all of them?" *glare* "I guess if I had to pick one, Lincoln Memorial." I WIN, because that was on my "must see" list!!!

So, on our list:
Museums
National Air & Space Museum
Museum of Natural History
Smithsonian
Monuments/Memorials
Lincoln Memorial
Washington Monument
WWII Memorial
FDR Memorial

So I know we won't be able to see all of the things we want to, but we can probably get through a lot of them, depending on if he has to work on Sunday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he has Sunday off too. He'll get his work schedule today. I am having a really hard time keeping my mouth shut now, we're so close to this weekend! I keep wanting to spill the surprise... but then I remember it's so soon anyway. Ah I'm so excited!!!

Seriously. You'd think I have this huge awesome surprise for him. Okay, I kind of do, but it's not really *that* amazing... But he's never been to DC before. I just hope he isn't sad we won't be having a lazy weekend, especially after his crazy week at work. Nope nope nope, I'm sure he'll love it. Guys I can't stand it I'm so excited.

I'm going to pack tonight, because he is at work until 10. So I'm going to leave at a relatively normal hour tonight to get things done, since I haven't been. Which stinks, because of course I'm forcing myself to leave before 8pm on the one day he's not home. Oh well, that's what I get for planning this surprise for him. Merry early Christmas, husband. Hope you like your "big" present!
