And though no one is saying it, I'm guessing you're thinking it.

So I'm blogging.

I'm working on a complete resume overhaul, I've had the same layout and everything since I started applying for jobs back in 2009. I figure with my desire to change career paths, a re-vamped resume is a good idea. No, I'm not seeking out any new jobs right now - but it's just thoughts. I've begun to fall in love with the city we live in. Which reminds me... I can finally start looking for a new place to live!! We're not completely happy with the apartment we're in now.

Our lease doesn't end until the beginning of September, but because this is a college town, we need to start looking for a new place now-ish. Plus, we have to give our apartment 60 days notice if we plan on moving out. (Stupid? Yes. But it's normal.)

---------

I had a nice long blog written out yesterday, but then the Internet ate it and it's all gone. So, from what I can remember:

I've been searching for new places to live. I've been looking on Craigslist, apartmentguide, and rent.com. If you have any other suggestions.... that would be amazing. I found two places yesterday, one is this ADORABLE red house. 4 bedroom, 1.5 bath...

The problem is that there is no fridge. We'd have to either rent one or buy our own. We'd probably end up renting one, because then we'd have to sell it before we move, since that's so obscure to not have a fridge. It also doesn't have a washer/dryer... nor does it have hookups. So we'd have to go to a laundromat. Boo. Aaaaaand, it doesn't allow pets. So, while adorable, it's not going to happen.

I also found this little place:

While it's not as adorable as the red house, it is in a decent location (I think) and it looks, as far as I can tell by the craiglist ad, very similar to what we are in now. Which works - the biggest reason we want to move is because of the management.

Speaking of: we & all of our neighbors all got notices from the city yesterday. Our grass is over 8" and there are weeds and things in the curbs & gutters. Lawn maintenance is not our responsibility. Though... if we had a mower, I would totally offer to do the lawn care if they took $$ off our rent. I estimate it would take me about 3 hours to get it all done with a walk-behind mower. And I figure I'd have to do it twice a month, so hey, take off $150 of my rent, and I'll mow the lawn. Unfortunately... we don't have a mower, so we'd have to buy one. Which would run us about $300, I think. So... not really worth it. I don't think. We want to get out from under the management - that's why we're looking at moving.

But back to the 2nd place: it's $115 cheaper than what we're paying now. It's closer to downtown, which means it would shave a few minutes off my commute to work, and who knows, maybe we would finally seriously look into buying bikes and we could go downtown on those. Or bike to the park and walk around the zoo. Granted, the zoo only takes like, 20-30 minutes to walk around. There are some alpacas (or maybe they're llamas?), bison, ducks, flamingos, and I think a jaguar. There aren't a lot of animals, but it's still fun to go see them all.

I contacted them about the listing yesterday, but I haven't heard anything yet. I know, we're not going to be moving for a while, but... it's worth looking, right?

I'll leave you with a dream house, that is completely and utterly out of our price range, but is sure fun to look at:

the kitchen is GORGEOUS

this looks like the master bedroom:
