It finally happened. I never thought it would. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be writing this blog post... but here it is. I'm still adjusting, and I think it is going to take some time before I get settled into this new life style. It's a crazy world, friends, and you never know what's going to happen. You get settled, or at least you think you're settled into a routine.... and then something happens and it messes your routine all up. Suddenly you're doing things you never imagined you would have to do.

We are officially dog owners. He is the fattest and most adorable pug I have ever seen, and I am completely aware that I am biased and I love him to bits. He joined our family just after midnight on August 10, thanks to our wonderful friends who were driving out this way for vacation. They're seriously amazing.

He isn't sure about the cats, we think he thinks they're play toys... He'll learn. He's gotten hissed at and swiped at, but it is only the 3rd day home with us, so I'm not worried. It looks like we need to get him a new set of food & water bowls, since he refuses to eat out of the food bowl he was sent with... so, yes, I put the food in the bowl, and then he watches me scoop it out and dump it on the floor. No accidents in the house (fingers crossed!) while we have been out, so that's good. He seems to actually like being in the crate we got for him for sleeping. For now we barricade him in the kitchen while we are at work, and that seems to work well. He is too short to jump on the bed (yay!) and needs a boost on the couch. We are only letting him on the couch if he is on a blanket we have declared "his".

Anyway, I know why you're really still reading this (if you haven't just skipped to the bottom, which, I wouldn't blame you for...). Ladies (and a few gentlemen), I'd like to introduce you to our newest family member: Walter. (Walt for short)
