I have an annual, work related gala coming up soon. In the past couple of years I've worn floor length gowns which got quite a buzz. I think people have big expectations now. This year however the theme seems to be slightly more relaxed (from what I figured), so I thought I should change things a bit and go with a knee length dress. This is what I had in mind:




With transparent or no tights of course.

However both my boyfriend and my mum seem underwhelmed. They're both like, "eh it's ok I suppose...."
I should say neither of them has seen the dress in person, only on pics.

What do you think? Should I go with it or play it safe and go with floor length again?
