I already have a beautiful engagement ring but I'll probably be either taking it off or moving to my right hand. It is a odd shape that won't fit well with a wedding ring and it's also silver, whereas I'm probably going with gold for the wedding ring. I've had a really hard time finding something I like and now I think I've finally found THE one! Of course, I really wish I could try it on and see how it'll actually look on my hand, but oh well. It is a bit more expensive than I was looking for but I want to go with gold rather than silver for durability.
Here it is:

As for my SO, I am having a hard time. It seems like tungsten is really popular for men and it'd be nice to have something that doesn't scratch. Does anyone here have any experience with tungsten? The thing that makes me nervous is they're so inexpensive. I mean, this one (that my SO likes) is from a website someone recommended on Offbeat Bride and it's only $20.

The ones here are a bit more expensive ($150ish) but I don't know if they're better.
My SO's one wedding ring requirement is to have something that's really shiny. So I don't know if tungsten is a good choice for that since I've never seen it in person! Or what about palladium?
Other question: I am pretty sure I have a nickel allergy since in the past, any jewelry I've worn has caused a rash. But my engagement ring is sterling silver and is fine. I've never tried wearing gold for more than a day, do you think I'd be fine with 14k Gold?
