Matt took me on a romantic date. We went to Araka, a European-inspired cuisine restaurant in Clayton. At our dimly-lit booth, nestled against a curved wall, Matt had ordered an arrangement of roses. I admired them through dinner, which was nothing short of amazing. I ordered butternut squash soup topped with toasted hazelnuts and creme fraiche, while Matt had the calamari with this tomato-esque dipping sauce and a light tartar sort of sauce with lemon in it. After that came the seared duck breast with barley risotto for me, and bolognese for Matt. Dessert was chocolate hazelnut bars and this vanilla cream (sort of like flan, I can't remember the name) topped with huckleberries and some pistachios. Absolutely amazing.
We talked, laughed, and at dessert, Matt slid over to my side of the booth and cuddled with me. We fed each other bits of dessert and kissed loads. He wore a pin-striped suit; I wore my dress with a white ruffled short skirt. He was so yummy - I couldn't stop looking at him, and when he sat by me I didn't let go of his hand as we fed each other.
Going back out the car wasn't as fun - biting cold made me shiver, so we walked *very* quickly back to the car, drove home, and ah... tumbled into bed, shall we say.

I still had to get up early this morning for work, since we're leaving for my dad's tonight via plane and I need to leave early, but the night... it was one night I won't forget.
