Whoopse, other blog was too long.

We exchanged gifts before going out for dinner and that was a blast. I had originally been a bit sad, I'd wanted Obi to wait to give me my gift til Christmas because I didn't like the idea of having nothing under the tree come that morning, but with all the happenings that day it felt like a day to celebrate anyway! And when I saw the box I realised that he wasn't fooling when he said it was too big to take to Melb with us...
I will love this man forever!.. He gave me a Dyson vacuum! I've wanted one for YEARS! And I got 'fun' things from Bec and Chris so I didn't feel jipped about the housewifeyness of the gift.
Dinner was at the forum (I live in little Italy, so they have their own Italian style forum nearby), Bec got a scoupon for seafood platters for four and oh my gawd they were good, and the free wine was excellent (Sadly Isis didn't think so, she spent all day yesty wailing her lungs out as my festivities burned the hell out of her ring as they passed through I learnt my lesson.). I thought the platters needed more on them though, I was still hungry, but you couldn't beat the quality. The cheesecake was old and dry and terrible though. So if you're ever getting desert at crepes kingdom, just go for ice cream.
We hadn't finished exchanging gifts yet so we headed back to mine and hung out some more. We always do stockings last in my family, and usually they are the best part. But I did notice mine was a little limp this year. Obi and Bec were supposed to both be contributing this year for mine. I did his and Bec's and Bec made one for Chris.
Anyway the first thing Bec pulls out of hers are these Christmas earings, and Obi has this weird expression on his face. I didn't remember that I hadn't put earings in there. I knew I thought about it, but I stuffed that sock months ago. The next thing she pulls out though, I knew there was no way I'd put that in there. It was huge, and black.... and wrapped in an anti-static bag?! Bec and I are both all WTF man? And then Obi's like "I must have added to the wrong stocking. That's for Miri, it's a laptop battery..." (Woo! I needed one of these so bad!)
Turns out the earings were supposed to be mine too, but Bec was so happy with them Obi didn't want to be all like "No, actually they aren't yours..." so he just let it slide.
Turns out he was wondering why Bec hadn't left much room in my stocking for him to fill, which explains why mine was half empty haha. So I will go buy my own earings at some point, and maybe guild wars 2 while I'm at it.
All around, there were lots of laughs and happiness!
And I finally made a blog that isn't about parenthood. Go me!
The good news continues too, Obi got given extra time off work because one of their clients will be on vaykay, so he gets to actually spend time with his parents when they arrive (a few days anyway) rather than working the whole time. Which also means maybe we can have a date or two!
Leaving tomorrow for Nowra, and so much to do before then... Erk. Maybe I should get started.
After breakfast!
enjoy your camping trip in wagga wagga/ the long drives to melbourne
