I guess having to break it up was to be expected..

The weekend was nice. We'd planned that on the Saturday we'd have an early birthday lunch for me with Bec and Chris and Sunday we'd visit my rellies in Nowra (about three hours away). Well, Obi had to choose a day on the weekend to work, because they wouldn't let him have two off, so I'm like "Come on the Saturday and then you can spend the evening playing video games and relaxing" because I know he often finds it boring visiting my rellies in the country (heck, I do too sometimes, so I can't blame him). Anyway well getting to the restaurant ended up being a needless drama. Obi googled where it was and I'm like "I have a fair idea of where that is" and then we met up with Bec and Chris at their place and all got on the bus. Bec was adamant there was a bus that would take us right to where we needed to go, but Chris was all "I've got this" and directed us onto the first bus into central Sydney. On that bus he suggests catching light rail when we get off and I suggested we just walk. Somehow from "No, why don't we just walk?" he heard "No, I don't like the tram" so the next thing I knew we're waiting for another bus, and Bec's getting the shits because she doesn't do waiting Then it's discovered that it'll be 20 minutes til the next bus because we just missed one and Obi's like "We could walk it in less than that" so we start walking. Then Bec's got the shits because she doesn't like walking. The light rail station is right on our way, so in an effort to appease Bec, Chris decides we're catching it. We wait on the platform for ten minutes while the boys stare at their phones trying to work out how many stops we'd need to ride for and when another tram might come. Bec's really losing her patience now and I'm trying to peace-keep. The boys figure out we're only a block away and the tram's not coming, so we keep walking... except Chris takes a short-cut through this four-story parking arcade that he can't figure out how to get out of. We eventually found where we were supposed to be only a little past the point where our late could be called fashionable.
On the way home? We walked EXACTLY the route I tried to explain we should have gone in the first place. And as we reached the main street where the busses are my sister goes to me "That was really easy! Why didn't we do this on the way there?" *facepalm* Obi and I had a good laugh over it later.

And lunch was well worth any hassle. Mmmm. I finally got to try real escargot and they were so much better than I could have anticipated (and I wasn't even off-put by their appearance like I worried I may be). Dad can jam his canned snails, the man has no idea! We had a lot of fun and Isis wasn't a turd at all, it was a success!

Saturday night Dustin's all "Let's get sushi" and who am I to argue with my favourite food and not having to cook? He bought extra too, so that I wouldn't have to find food when I got home Sunday either. Love that man.

Sunday was... well I'm not having the best of luck lately I guess. But I am getting better at being on time with the baby, and we were ready to go half an hour before Bec and Chris came to get us. Obi waited around with me rather than going to work on time so he could see me off (and who's going to complain on a Sunday, honestly?) so there we are about to put the baby seat in their car when Chris discovers a piece is missing. After searching, we came to the conclusion that last time Obi and I hired a car we forgot to remove this piece before giving the car back. Fuck.
And this car seat isn't ours, it's borrowed from the really sweet yank from upstairs. Double fuck.
To make matters worse, nothing is open before 10am on a Sunday in my suburb so I can't just get a replacement... so the only option I had was to call the poor chick who's stuff I've managed to lose, admit what I'd done and ask her if she had another car seat to lend me.

Of course, she's so nice, she didn't even care that I lost it (I'll replace it of course!) and she did have another seat we could borrow, so she came out in her jammies and helped us with that. Woo! We were on the road only 45 minutes behind time.

The drive was a nightmare, as expected with my motion sickness, Isis's crying, my sister's high-strung-ness and Chris's stuffing around , but the rest of the day was good.
I'm so worried about my Aunt and Uncle, they have one health problem after another these days, and I suppose that makes sense, they are over 60 now. Which is just hard for me to wrap my head around. Aunty looks fantastic for 60! But anyway, we hung out and ate too much, and it was great.

I felt a bit bad for Obi though. I wasn't checking my phone because I have no credit, and seeming it expired 3 days before I was due to leave the country, I'm not willing to re-charge it (a monthly re-charge) only to be gone for half it's validity. He knew I had no credit, but sent me a message asking me to borrow Bec's phone to respond. Then later (when he assumed we'd be home) he sent another telling me if I'm home I should fb him so he knows I'm safe - but we weren't home. By the time I did get in and checked my phone he'd left work and I couldn't contact him. So he was sooky when he got in. I was touched that he worried about us <3

Man this is going to be long...

Anyway, so we're up to today. It's all washing laundry, packing and cleaning. Which isn't so easy to do with the owl around. Luckily I asked Obi to get the suitcase down from the wardrobe before work because when I opened mine, I discovered that at some point I'd decided to store a heap of books and the wooden letters we used for centerpieces at our wedding in there. No wonder he struggled to get it down! Poor bastard. And that's what I'll be doing for the rest of the day... in a much better mood than earlier! Thanks for providing me this opportunity to complain!
