    Nikola - Croatia

Hello to all members of Loving From a Distance,

My name is Nikola. I live in Croatia. My girl is called Elaph. She lives in Iraq. I still learn English, so please if you see something weird in my vocabulary don't be surprised. However, It's a very great distance that part us, and the age is a pretty problem too. We cannot visit each other. A second problem is that her parents might not know about our relationship for now. We enjoy it to talk and to share our love. We spend hours in front of our monitors. I discovered this site in hope to find something how we can make our relationship more interesting and exciting.

We have plans for the future... and we are struggling to make them true. Because I promised her, I cannot tell what kind of plans that are. I am sure we will come together one day, It's only a matter of time.

at 18 though you will be able to fly internationally, but visiting Iraq would be quite a big deal on your first international flight alone, I think even as a seasoned flyer going to Iraq would be pretty serious.. I really hope you two last through having to wait

                  Hello and welcome, Nikola.

It sounds like a tricky situation indeed. If you don't mind me asking, is your girlfriend from a muslim backgroung? (feel free to ignore that if it's too personal). Coming from a muslim community myself I understand how being in a relationship that would not be approved of (if known) can suck and put pressure on the couple. But I hope you work things out.

Yes she is a Muslim... well it affects our relationship a bit... and makes it harder... not because she is what she is... but how she was raised. I have much patience and I hope that will be enough to realize our dream
