Firstly, I should be grading the last of the exam papers but I'm procrastinating so I thought I'd blog!
School finishes on Wednesday until September and I want to have a little summer project. This year it is to get more into meditation. I've done a 5-session class at the Buddhist centre about 18-months ago and so got taught the basics there. I'm really not a 'spiritual' or religious person so for me it's not really about the religious side at all but more for the clarity of mind, focus and understanding your mind aspect.
I have found it useful, particularly the mindfulness type for depression and anxiety in the past but am really interested in reading more about it, trying out a few more techniques and styles etc. I might even try and get my SO to have ago whilst I'm out there.....but I don't have much hope for that, he's deeply cynical about everything.
So, just wondering if anyone on here meditates and can recommend any particular resources. There are loads on Youtube, Spotify and I have a few books but am always open for more suggestions. My aim is to do it in some form every day for the 6-weeks I'm off work and then hopefully keep incorporating it into life once I'm back at work (if I find it useful that is).

#1MissButterfly commentedJuly 19, 2016, 05:33 AMEditing a commentThat sounds great! I had to test a few mindfulness apps for a course in 'psychology of stress and health' but those were mostly Dutch. It's definitely worth looking into though, because I really liked the idea of them. Shorter sessions for when you're at work, longer ones for at home, information and guidance about them. Just found this article, maybe you can look into those http://www.mindful.org/free-mindfuln...our-attention/
