Okaaaaaaay, so! Because I have a bunch of really important things I need to do, I decided to do the second part of my trip-blog! But the essay and other assignments that need being done can wait, I've got more important things to do! So.... Here's Prt. 2 of my trip to see my SO!

So yes, left of yesterday with landing in Buenos Aires and the first day of experiencing South America! Next day, we got up way too late (I was sooo jetlagged so we didn't leave the hotel until like 2pm xD) but managed to do a lot anyways! Gon wanted to show me the Cemetery of Recoleta which was just down the road - literally - and I had read so much about it online that I couldn't wait to see it either! So we made our way there in the 37 degree Celcius heat (mind you, I came from -20 so I was almost melting away xD) and just walked around for hours, it was just so amazing! I've never seen anything like it before, and it was huuuuuuuge! Got to see a lot of graves and monuments of old generals, presidents and officers, and it was really interesting because I find history in general very interesting. However it was a slight bit creepy as well, and even if it was in the middle of the day and hot as hell, I couldn't help but get chills every now and then by a particularily creepy grave xD

Just some pictures to give you guys an idea of how it is, the last one was freaking creepy, all covered in spiderwebs and looking like a zombie would jump out any second! Either way, it was amazing to see it, and I'm definitely going back there next time I'm over!

We continued our day just walking around town, up and down Avenida Córdoba, Santa Fe, Avenida Pueyrredón, Sarmiento, Avenida Corrientes... It just never ended! We walked for hours, and still made it to new parts of town, it was just insane! We were both starving eventually, so we made it to Burger King (the biggest one I've seen! It was in a remade theater as well, so it had two stories and winding stairs, it was awesome!) where Gon made me try a "Stacker".... Now, I don't know if they are common in other countries such as the U.S or something, but we definitely don't have it here in Sweden! I mean... 4 loafs of meat, 4 slices of cheese and bacon?? I was full just by looking at it!

Aaaanyways, eventually Gon took me to see 9 de Julio, the main street of the town... And holy crap, I've never seen anything as big in my life! Absolute chaos everywhere, cars all over the place and the street just kept on going until you couldn't see it anymore. It was so cool! I loved just being there and looking at all the people, I could've stayed there all day!

So we continued up the street as there was a lot of noise and fireworks going on and we wanted to check it out, and... We ended up in a huge mass of Boca-fans (one of the football-teams), celebrating El Día De Hincha De Boca. It was insane, 60 000 people had gathered around the obelisk, and they were chanting songs and firing off fireworks. Now, this team are the rivals of the team Gon and his family supports, River Plate, so obviously I'm a Boca-fan. Not only to mess with him, but they actually decided (way back) to take on the same colours as the flag of the first ship that docked in Buenos Aires... And the ship was Swedish! So of course I have to support the team that honour the colours of my country Anyways, it was mayhem, and I thought it was so impressive because I've never seen that many people in one place, but my SO was really worried. He kept pulling my arm and telling me we needed to go because he knew how these things went, so I decided to trust him, and we started walking the other way.

Turns out he was right. He lived in Buenos Aires for a few years, so he has some experience with football-fans and protests/celebrations.... When we got back to the hotel just an hour and a half later, we turned on the TV and got to know that 4 people had been shot dead right where we were just an hour and 30 minutes later. On top of that, complete mayhem broke out, and a bunch of people started wrecking the shops around the square, beating down shopowners and even wrecking a bus that was parked. I'm glad my SO knows what he's doing, thank god!

The following days were just as awesome as the other ones (minus being almost in a shooting), and we explored a lot of places in the town. Though even though we were there for almost a week, we weren't even near to seeing it all! But, Gon decided to show me the coolest places and stuff, so we'll take the rest next time. We went to Puerto Madero one day, the richer neighbourhood, and he showed me where he'd lived while he went to college, and even showed me where he studied! We were even able to walk in and everything, and he showed me the classrooms and stuff. Later that night, we went to an all-you-can-eat restaurant because Gon wanted to show me all the different kinds of meat (Argentina is famous for having amazing meat, and let me tell you... It's true!) and my god... I was so full after that dinner I didn't think I'd be able to walk any more - ever! He had me trying tounge of both pig and cow, small intestines, liver, kidneys, bloodsausage, heart... All sorts of weird and somewhat gross things, but suprisingly enough most of it was good! Except the bloodsausage... Ugggghhh. I think we were there for like 3 hours! And afterwards, we made it into town again to watch The Hobbit with one of Gon's cousins who lives there (FYI, film was amazing! ). So yes, our week in Buenos Aires was mostly very touristy, but I didn't mind since I wanted to see all the touristy stuff and then be able to live it next time I get there

Puerto Madero with the bridge named Punta de la Mujer.

Puerto Madero.

Awesome, cosy shops in San Telmo!

And of course we had to watch some street-tango

Next part will involve our flight home to my SO, and some stuff from there! Will probably post it tomorrow or maybe even later tonight, we'll see!
