Next weekend I fly back home to the UK. It's making me super sad thinking about it but I need to work for our futures. Speaking of which I started applying for jobs again today, so hopefully I have an interview offer or two when I return home.

My SO too has been thinking about work, the local transportation in his area (something called the dollar bus) has said that it can't come and pick him up because he isn't rural....there is 1 store in walking distance of the house, I don't see how it's not classed as rural. Anyway because of that and the fact he has no transportation, the job opportunities are basically zero. This means he has started looking at a similar job to what his step-dad does...which is working off-shore on an oil rig.

That upsets me in a way one because the communication won't be great for us while he's out there but also because it's something he really doesn't want to do. However there seems to be little else he can do so obviously I will support him. If he gets a job out there it will mean he'll take home a large amount of money at the end of each stint, so practically he could be paid off and ready to visit me back home in about 4 months, which is great.

He said he would rather endure that than lose me (isn't he the cutest). I hope things start working out, he has the worst luck. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us.
