So, we're not officially engaged yet - no ring - but my grandparents weren't very happy with not being able to put our wedding date into their December plans so we had a good talk and picked December 14th to get married! We will go on our honeymoon after the holidays are over.
I'm super excited. I have my dress and my bridesmaids' dresses. I'm just having my sisters be my bridesmaids because 1. I love them and 2. it should make things a little less dramatic. For example: I bought their dresses last week at a thrift shop - all three dresses for $35 total. They are all matching color and length, just different design, which is OK by me!
Ok, so the SO and I have known we were going to get married once I came home from China (in July), but money wasn't really working out too well until now. It's still not great but we're going to do it! Yay!
I'm really excited about this!!!
On a less happy note:
I'm really stressed living at home with my parents/family still. I'm living with them until we get married and move into a little house up the road. My mom and I get along so well when we're LD, but living in the same house is killing us. We're too similar for our own good. We fight lots. Hopefully things get better soon! AND my super drama sister has been a lot of trouble lately, but then she was put in charge of my Bridal Shower and everything changed. I think she just needs to feel important and that improves her mood.
I have a terrible cold I caught from the SO. (How crazy is it that I'm actually GLAD I caught his cold because it proves we're CD! lol)
What else...
I finally got 2 part-time jobs!
One is teaching Composition at a community college nearby, another is teaching English to foreign children whose parents moved to America this year. I am really liking my jobs and they aren't many hours, but they'll look great on my resumé.
Hoping to be able to save up a little for our wedding.
I'm looking for most of my wedding decor and stuff on Craigslist. Got my dress from Craigslist a few weeks ago. Good price. Awesome.
