So, my house has been looking pretty drab, as it is a brownish color, and not very exciting, so I decided I wanted to spice it up with some flowers! (I'm sure this can't go wrong… lol)
I have an AMAZING friend who has a huge flower garden, and she invited me over and helped me dig up some perennials for my garden. She even gave me a birdbath!
Pretty sure she gave me over $200 worth of perennials, and if I don't kill them off, I will have some awesome flowers over the next couple years. All the good perennials around here were pretty expensive, and anything else seems like a waste of my time for them to die forever within a year or two
So this morning I planted all of them, and it had rained last night so the ground was moist enough for them, I think. I'm totally crap at plant layout and designing, and since they were plants I wanted to get them into the ground ASAP, figuring if they survive I can Pinterest my way into finding a good plan for them for next year when they are feeling heartier. Anyways, here's a pick of my new flower garden:
And, as soon as they were all in the ground and I was cleaning up all my planting stuff, a huge bumblebee came and enjoyed my Bleeding Hearts plant! I haven't seen a bumblebee in years (literally) and so I felt that this was a good sign that the world was happy with my garden and it's location! Most of my neighbors are pretty crappy so I don't think there are too many flowers around. So I am taking the bumblebee as a good sign for my garden, and that it means it will recover from the brutal transplant I forced it through…
Just wanted to share my little garden!

I somehow managed to spent close to $150 on the pots, soil, and plants, and the majority of them are annuals. They are gorgeous, though!
