I've been pretty down the last few days. I missed my boyfriend terribly and I was stressed out with starting to research for my BA thesis and my friend staying with my (in my teeny tiny place) and not being able to find a place to stay.
Today is much better, though. We've bought his tickets for November a few days ago (he'll only be here for two days, though - TOO SHORT!), the weather has improved, my friend is a lot closer to getting herself a room and the weather has gotten better. Ohh and I've joined a gym and with my mum we decided we'll go on a weekend to the mountains together in January to make up for not spending Christmas together.
I'm feeling a lot better.
Also when I was writing an e-mail to my mum this morning to ask her which weekend in January she prefers, it became clear to me that... in about half a year, we'll be national and the distance will be half of what we have now. We'll still be long distance and I don't even know if we really will be able to see each other more often than we do now. But it'll be easier to travel and I will be able to call him for free.
I'm most likely moving to his city in a year, though. So we'll be international yet again BUT still only half the distance.
Things are looking really good this morning!
Now I only need to get my ass to uni. The lease on my room runs out in March and I'd like to live here another semesterm so I need to go and have it extended for a semester. And there's of course some stuff I need to print, copy and read. I'm probably doing my BA on Language Atrition of Polish emigrants or on morphological integration of foreign terms in the Polish of Poles living abroad. But the latter would probably mean some sort of historic comparison and phonetic shifts and I'd like to avoid that.
But then again.. we live closer and can visit more often, so while I hate being in an LDR there's probably less pressure to close the distance.
Haha, I've stolen the picture from a page that presents the stories of German-Polish couples. Actually if you ask me the ones they have on there are rather boring. But the idea is still soo cute.
Link. It's only in German, though, so I don't know how useful it is for anyone on here.
I'm off to the gym now I'm getting a "Fitness-Check" done. I can tell this is going to be bad.
I'm happy there are good changes in your future ^^;
What I basically want to do is write about how Polish immigrants speak another Polish than the one that is spoken in Poland. And then I can see if/how much this affected by the language of the country they life and so on.
And my friend has finally found a place to stay. My boyfriend will be here on Friday, we're going to Cologne Sun-Tue and when we come back we'll have my place for ourselves. Almost. Thu-Sat we'll have two friends staying over, who are in the city for a conference. But they'll sleep in the kitchen and be gone all day. I guess I could open a freaking hostel
