Since a lot of you seemed really interested in it and because there can never be too little good news, I'll let you know how it went.
So my flight was at 2pm on Thursday, but I had finished the advent calendar I made for my boyfriend the night before, so I got up rather late and, like always, had to pack in a rush. That, in combination with me being neeervous about the whole thing, let to me forgetting half of my things (thank god for the Body Shop at the airport having my beloved detangling comb!).
The flight was like usual, except that I probably had the biggest most stupid smile on my face the whole time and instead of the sandwiches Lufthansa usually serves there was a salat that was soo much better (the last time I asked for a vegetarian option, they gave me an apple ).
We were a bit delayed because there apparently are some problems with the new runway in Frankfurt and my boyfriend's mum was already waiting for me at the airport in Warsaw. We went straight to the Goethe-Institut where my boyfriend had classes and made it despite 5pm traffic (Warsaw traffic is crazy, I don't understand why people there have cars at all - most of the time you'd be faster if you walked and had only one leg).
So I waited for him outside of the class room for what seemed like ages, but was probably closer to 10min... and there he was! He was actually the 2nd person coming out of the room. He had this really huge, unbelieving eyes, when he saw me and kept saying that he can't believe it's actually me. We stood and hugged for maybe 5minutes and of course I got teary eyed again. It was like something from a really corny movie but so so so beautiful. I've been wanting to this basically ever since we had become long distance and it was really everything I had hoped it to be. It was so perfect.
We then went home together with his mum and he put up the ticket for the concert on Friday night on [the Polish equivalent of ebay].
Friday morning he went to classes and later we met on his best friend's grandma's funeral. So I got to attend my first Polish funeral ever. His friend's family (well the more extended one that I hadn't met yet) kept asking if we were brother and sister, which was slightly disturbing We must be more similar looking than I had thought.
After the funeral we went to my boyfriend's grandparents for dinner, which was very normal. His grandparents weren't very surprised that I showed up. Later that day we went to see an exhibition about Poles living in Berlin and Germans living in Warsaw, went to the cinema (80 million) and later met up with the friends he was supposed to go to the concert with (btw, he sold the ticket for only ~5€ less than he had paid for it! Yay!).
On Saturday, which was also our anniversary, we slept in, went to the mall and then to his uncle's and cousin's name day or birthday (I can never keep up with that stuff). It was at a really small restaurant/cafe place, so that there were no other clients and the food and drink was sooo good. They even had my favourite chocolate beer.
On Sunday we went to a Christmas fair and the Berlin days. They had a model of the Brandenburg gate and there were real Germans selling Currywurst and German beer Aand then he took me to the airport.
My trip home was perfect, though. When I arrived at the baggage belt my bag was already there and I managed to get the train home just in time, which meant I was home almost an hour earlier than I usually am after that flight.
Ok, most of this probably wasn't very interesting. I bought cherry pie today, so if you've read all of this, I'll share with you
Im happy to hear everything went so great!
I was like when I read the chocolate beer part, interesting... so thanks for sharing!
P.S: Any cherry pie left?
