YES!
My boyfriend's accepted at uni in Germany!!!
Not in my city, though. But about halfway between his city and mine, which is great, because I'm moving to his city in October.
The last hurdle he has to pass is the language test.
To get his Master's in Germany he has to take one semester of language course before he starts his actual studies. To get into that course he has to pass a test and be among the 60 best who take the test. I got the invitation to the test and the letter of acceptance today (we put my adress, because mailing nationally is more reliable and faster).
So everyone: Remember March, 28th, keep your fingers crossed and do everything else in your power that's supposed to bring luck. We'll need it.
He can take a one-week-preparation class before the test. It costs 110€ (+accomodation), but it's probably worth it.
I'm so excited!! We won't close the distance, but we'll finally live in the same country and we'll be a lot closer (~400 instead of 900km) and him getting an education in Germany means we'll be able to live in either country once we both finish uni.
He's still applying at my uni as well, if he doesn't make it in the language course there he'll have a second chance here and we could live together for half a year.
I'm soo excited.
I also got a really cute christmas package from my grandparents with loooots of chocolate and a cherry pit pillow-pig <3
And my new suitcase has arrived, I only need to get to the post office to pick it up
I'm making my life a real emotional rolercoaster right now...
We already talked on the phone (ofc when I got the letter I immediately told him to call me!) and he's just as thrilled as me.
The test is going to be a cloze test, where the second half of every second word is missing. It's only half an hour. I looked at examples and damn I would have problems with that, but it's probably more that specific kind of tests that you need to study. With the appropriate preparation it should be doable.
I already have my new suitcase now and it's so pretty <3
