Ok, I really need to make one blog post with all the pictures. I mean how often can you all write "Congrats!" and "You looked so pretty!" But my husband's uncle is sending them to us one by one and I only have three pictures so far, but I want to share them.

So I'm combining this one with a bit more text.

Olek's parents, uncle and aunt arrived here on Friday at around 1pm. Conveniently our wardrobes got delivered on Thursday, which meant even MORE boxes in our apartment. Aaanyway
they arrived and the men went straight to work. I kid you not. My fil arrived, got out of his jeans (he never wears long trousers around the house ) and started putting together our kitchen shelves.
The women had brought SO MUCH FOOD. Tomatos, different kinds of meat, soup, I don't even know what. I don't prepare meat, because I don't eat it and I have no idea how to and frankly I don' see the need. So my mil always makes sure that Olek has something in the freezer.

When Olek came home from classes, we had a small lunch together, got packed and at 4pm my mil brought us to the station. Taking our bags and the clothes on the train was a bit complicated, but we made it. 1,5h later we arrived in Görlitz, took a taxi to our hotel, picked up the keys, chose the prettiest room for us and waited for our guests to arrive. Our friend Luiza was the first (she had the shortest journey, too), then my other friend, my mum, brother and his girlfriend arrived and we went for pizza. Later that night Olek's friend and his wife arrived, we chatted in our room for a bit, the others went out for some drinks and I went to wash my hair and... tried to sleep. I was sooo damn tired, but I was also really, really, really excited and nervous and had foolishly had a coffee with the pizza, so sleeping didn't come.
Olek came back at around 1am and I was still awake. I don't know when I fell asleep, but I know I checked the time on my phone at 3:30am.

The next morning we had breakfast at our hotel, went for a short walk around the city to see where the registry office is. See, I hadn't been to the city before and I had no idea where ANYTHING was. Then Olek and I went back to the hotel to get ready and the others continued the walk. We later sent them to get flowers and champagne, while I did my hair and make-up and got dressed. At some point I called my mum to get her to help me close the dress... and my mum WAS TAKING A FREAKING BATH

She came over to help me when she was finished, though. And then I was ready and it was about 12:30pm and we were going to leave for the registry office at 12:45. I was planning to meet Olek at the patio of the hotel, but he accidentally saw me in the hotel hallway, so we went to the patio together... and no one was there.
I was getting really nervous and was like "Ok, we need to go, so we won't be late. I don't care where everybody is. If they're going to be late, it's their loss! Let's go!" and off we went. Of course we were early and everbody arrived at the registry office in time, we even had to wait a bit.

Then the registry office lady called us in. There was this small ante-room to the hall where they hold the ceremony. It was really pretty, I remember they had a really cute gold-green drawer. Anyway, we went through the papers, noticed that Olek's name was misspelled on some of them , picked a cover for our family register (useless, but really pretty) and then she went into the big hall, turned on our first song and came back to bring us in there, too. I had to fight tears pretty hard, because the song was beautiful and ... hello... I was getting married.

So then, we sat down in these HUGE chairs. We didn't have witnesses after all, but Luiza agreed to translate for Olek's family, so she got a not-quite-so huge chair next to us. The registry office lady made a really long and beautiful speech about love and getting married (duh). I couldn't pay attention to all of it, but what I paid attention to was beautiful.

Then we had to stand up and she asked Olek first and then me and we both said "Yes" (or rather "Ja") and then we were married. She put on the 2nd song, we exchanged our rings, the registry lady read the record. 3rd song, we had to sign the papers. Then our guests left first, and then we left. There was a (Polish!) guy playing the accordion outside... and again it was really beautiful. We opened the champagne, threw our glasses, went back to the hotel, where we opened some of our presents. We got a lot of glasses (white wine, red whine, liquer, whiskey,...), an iron (we had asked for that), the cutest tea cups I've ever seen, bed sheets.... Then we went to the restaurant and had AMAZING food and of course vodka. The salom was among the best things I've ever eaten. And the duck looked tasty, even to me.

My mum managed to only drink two shot glasses during the whole day, which is really amazing, considering she always seemed to toast with Olek's family. She's a magician. Everyone talked to everyone, though, despite of the huge language barrier and it looked like everyone had a lot of fun. Olek and I certainly did. Even though I got a bit tired of the photo-taking by the end I guess I can be a bit of a moody child sometimes.
Before the cake we went for another short walk, because we were all SO FULL. The tort was freaking cute. It had the motives from our wedding announcements (with the two birds, in case any of you remembers), which was a surprise from Olek.

At about 8pm we went back to the hotel, changed into more formal clothes and at 9pm we went on a guided night guard tour around Görlitz.
After the the tour I was so tired and I really just wanted to be alone with Olek and talk to him and just be with him. We had some moments for ourselves during the day, but I felt like it wasn't nearly enough. So our friends went to a pub and we went home.
And that was our wedding day.
On Sunday we had breakfast together and then everyone went their ways. My brother and his girlfriend took our things in their car and went to our place, while me, my mum and Olek took the train.
And on Sunday night Olek started putting together the first wardrobe - romantic married life

I guess that was enough text to justify the photo.
