I have told my SO many times that I have trouble going a month without seeing him. I know I am lucky to see him as often as I do and I have nothing but respect for people who manage to go longer - and I mean, I have gone longer in past LDRs (6 months - a year) but with him I know I just can't do it. I think it's also because so many of my relationships have had the LD component that I want to get as close to a CD relationship as possible.
So I've been buying plane tickets. I already have the ticket for our Thanksgiving visit (late November) because I know tickets are only going to go up in price from there. That was a rational enough decision to make and I WAS right - tickets for Thanksgiving are already $100 above the usual rate. Today I was browsing deals from Southwest (I saw someone had in their signature on here that Southwest was the airline of their LDR - and I want to thank them for pointing me that way because some of their deals are incredible!) and saw that a round trip to go see him during my fall break (october) would cost even less than we're used to paying for a round trip (difference of only about $20, but every little counts!). So I booked that too.
And now I am looking at booking for another visit we agreed to make between fall break and Thanksgiving. And I'm even looking at prices of tickets for December. I must be insane.
Is this my new way of coping with the distance? I guess it's better on my waistline than gorging on ice cream/chocolate (I've lost 9lbs since going back to long distance!) but it's not better on my bank account!
