So I'm supposed to see my boyfriend this weekend and I just cannot get a ride to the stupid airport.

First a friend took about a week to confirm whether she could or not - and then she said she couldn't, which was fine, so then I asked if any of my friends would be able to take me, and the only one who could is a guy who has feelings for me so that was weird and I said no.. So then my roommate says she might if we can leave a little earlier than planned, so I take my last hour off work to make that work... and then we realize we have our times mixed up and she meant 11:30 and I read 1:30.

Now I have no way to get to the airport unless I pay $50 for an airport shuttle. Bleh. I am not made of money and it's one thing for me to buy flights, another to spend a chunk of money just getting there.

  Friends suck- I had the same problem when my SO came. Personally, I always say that shuttles are the way to go. It sucks spending the extra money but knowing that they're going to be there on time and are reliable makes me feel better. Check craigslist though too, sometimes people post that they're going and want to carshare.

  I can understand how much trouble that would cause. Hopefully you find $50 somewhere to offset this added cost.

  Thanks everyone for the kind words. I live in a college town that's about an hour away from the airport if you take the toll road (and now I've just given my location away, lol :P) and there are only a few companies that offer the shuttle - and the cheapest I've found was $46 (the most expensive is $95). Regular public transport would take me about 4h... I definitely can't do that as I have classes in the morning.
  
  Thanks for the tip of looking on Craigslist, Briesaurus! I feel like it's a bit short notice now, but I might put up an ad for my next visit after this one since I foresee the same kinds of trouble.
