When I met my boyfriend, he had a leather jacket that he absolutely loved. Unfortunately, a few weeks after our first meeting, he lost it somewhere and was very sad. Since it's been a year later, I figured I would treat him for Christmas and get him a brand-spanking-new leather jacket. It cost me a paycheck and a half but I still got a good deal on it - I got for half the price it was originally marked as. I was ecstatic and couldn't wait to see his face on Christmas morning!
Until this morning, when I got this message from him.
"Woo! my mom just called to tell me she found my leather jacket I have been missing for a year."
Blargh.
Now I don't know whether to tell him about my gift because, while it will be a surprise, it seems like a redundant thing to get him. I am irrationally upset about this :/ What do you think? To tell him or not?
It'll work out. He'll love the present. Don't worry
I actually had a similar thing happen to me with my ex. A few years ago, my best friend got me a really cute purse for Christmas. I was really excited about it and told my now-ex about the purse. His face dropped when I told him about it...and when he gave me my Xmas gift, it turned out that he also got me a purse! I still loved it though and use it to this day.
Don't worry too much, I'm sure he'll fall in love with the jacket
