    Terrified

The distance is going to be closed very soon, but...

We are both scared. I have quit my job (I'm going to school distance ed full time starting Jan), and we both have fear. He is worried that if it doesn't work out, all these sacrifices I made will be his fault. I'm scared of coming back home like a dog with her tail between her legs. There are so many what-ifs that I'm sure you all know about. How do I ease this tension and try to enjoy the time on skype for the next week? He'll be here next week, and I'm just so scared right now that I can't enjoy thinking about it.

    Thank you for any insight.

It's OK to be scared, it's a very big deal There's always a chance it won't work, but it could also be the best thing you've ever done and you'll never know until you try. You've committed to moving, so now just go with it and be at peace with your decision. Enjoy yourselves for the holidays and try turning that fear into excitement, you're starting a whole new chapter in your life. There's no way you won't feel fear with such a big change, that's natural, but if you're sure about the relationship, it'll be OK.

I guess it's also scary because we're not sure. That's why we're not just getting married and doing the visa etc. I'm glad there are people here who understand and can re-assure me that what's happening isn't crazy.

I totally understand you, I about to put my 2 weeks notice in to work soon, and start packing up getting ready to move in 4 weeks. I am terrified as well! There are so many what-if's but if you feel in your heart that you love him and what to be with him than do it! If it doesn't work out than hey at least you tried, and nobody is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, and I'm sure your family and friends will not judge and welcome you with open arms!
