Spousal visa to Canada! HELP :(

Already posted this as a blog but I'm desperate!

Ugh im starting to dread this process. It is all so confusing and though I have been researching it for years now, I keep coming into these road block questions I can't seem to figure out. I am so tempted to invest in an immigration lawyer, but their fees are an outrage and I feel like I am capable of doing my own paper work its just some specifics I'm confused on.

I am just looking on a person that has been through this before that could possibly clear a few things up for me that wont charge a whopping $4,000 grand.

:/ So, Anybody have a friend that has a friend thats immigrated to Canada?

If I were you I'd try to find a forum about immigrating to Canada, or for expats currently in Canada. The one I'm on for Costa Rica is helpful, even if the members are all curmudgeons...

I suggest investing in an immigration lawyer, I'm a law student so I know that once an application has been found to have errors on it (in the US at least) it's incredibly difficult to get it approved later on. If it's just a few bits of the form, it shouldn't be too outrageous...complete it yourself and then have an attorney with experience in Canadian immigration procedure look at it. It may be expensive, but it's definitely worth it to avoid being sent to the back of the line after already applying.
