    This is it....

Today Derik began moving into an apartment that we're going to share at the end of the summer when we get married (albeit quietly and without much adieu) He is staying with my grandparents for the weekend and then on Monday we'll get the utilities turned on and he'll be here to stay. It is so crazy to think that 5 years ago we were just two kids in highschool desperately hoping we'd get the chance to see each other. We relied on our parents whims and vehicles and money, but now that he;s here and we'll be living on our own things will be so different. I know this isn't a "happily ever after" since life does not really work like that but it sure seems like we succeed at something anyway. Long distance is hard but I am glad that I did it. I don't regret any second of the time we spent apart really because it just helped us develop such a strong foundation. I foundation that I know will help us with our marriage. I know we're young - maybe too young to be getting married but we can do this.

I know you've probablly all heard this before but just never forget that long distance relationships are far from impossible. If two people are in love they can do it, and I believe in all of you and your capacity to succeed at this. Good luck and thank you for the support when I truly needed it.

Congratulations! I really don't have much to say except that I suggest premarital counseling. I'd recommend it to anyone getting married, and especially to you who seems to be having doubts age-wise to help calm those nerves. Other than that, good luck :'D! And never forget what you two went through, it helps when you want to strangle him XP.

well congrats to ya your story inspires me and gives me alot of hope. you two have been together for 5 years through LDR and are still together, that is awesome. And like i've told many people most LDR's work and last forever to the point where the couple will get married and stay married, they work better then any relationship you find in your own hometown, and most LDR's have been long distance for 5 years or more sometimes and they make it, if you guys and the couples that were long distance for more then 5 years can do it then so can everybody else if they want it bad enough and are willing to try really hard
