    Working temporarily in the USA

    Hi everyone.

This is my first post. I encountered this site while looking for ways to begin and maintain a relationship long distance. Really long distance. Just over 7700 miles.

Anyway, i'm looking at leaving my hometown of Canberra, Australia to travel to Los Angeles, CA so i can close the distance and be with the girl of my dreams.
My only problem is trying to figure out these tricky Visa policies. It doesn't matter to me what job i'm in when i get there. Anything just to hold her in my arms.

I was hoping someone might be able to offer up some advice for me? It doesn't need to be a permanent arrangement. 12 months would be just about perfect.

    Thanks,
    - Anj

Here's the work visa website https://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/t...ypes_1275.html and here's the website that gets more in depth about the temporary visas by giving you some information about each type of visa https://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/t...ypes_1271.html. Just know that if you want to work in the US temporary you will more then likely need to have a prospective employer file a petition to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services which they have to approve first before you can apply for the visa.

Treasuretrooper <-- how I helped pay for some of my LDR expenses when I was in one.
