We're closing the distance in August (!!!), and I would love to surprise him with a gift of some kind. The last few months leading up to closing the distance have been the worst (the anticipation is killing both of us which means a lot of fighting) and so I would love this gift to be a "this is a new beginning for us" kind of gift. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe something to hang on our wall, but I can't come up with anything and google isn't helping. Did anyone do something cool or have any ideas for me?

My budget isn't a lot. I would almost prefer to make something because of that, but I can't come up with anything that really symbolizes our journey so far. The two things that I can think of he already made as gifts for me.Comment

I like dc's idea, why don't you print a map from where he is from and a map from where you're from and put them on small canvas pieces? Put stickers on them spelling "Finally Together" or "Distance Closed" or something like that!
