To anyone applying for, or that has a visa

Does anyone know if you get a visa that is good for two years if it starts once it is processed of when you first enter the country? I am about to apply for one but don't want to waste some of the time on it if I don't leave for another 3 months.

This may depend on the country, but for all the visas I've had they've asked me the date of departure while I'm applying and then that date is marked as the "start date" on the visa and then the "end date" or "valid until" date would be 2 years (or whatever) after that.

It all depends on the country you're applying for and the type of visa. The visa conditions should tell you when the time period for said visa starts.

Thanks. Its for a holiday working visa to UK. I couldn't find it anywhere on the website and one of the companies that you can get it though didn't have anyone online to chat to so I figured the smart people of lfad could help me out.

Just got the post now. https://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/ I'm sure the answer is there somewhere :S Found one part asking when the latest date you can enter is and it said when the visa expires which wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

Thanks - I was worried that I was unclear what I meant by link, sorry I sounded so short. I don't see a working holiday listed, is it called something else perhaps?

I promise you the uk border agency website is horrible to navigate, I've had my far share of issues with it when I was looking into the youth mobility visa. I'm pretty sure it is under Tier 5, here is what I've found https://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoa...syouthmobility I hope that can help somebody because I couldn't see it.

Though I did do a little googling and found somebody posted in an Australian forum "I believe the application process will ask you for the date you intend to arrive into the UK (or when you want the visa active from)" https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1132790

Maybe e-mail the company just to confirm things.
