Visa Documents.....Sent off!

Well I recently posted asking for advice on shipping for if/when her fiancée visa gets approved, and we're still working on that.

But this week....we finally got our supporting documents sent off to the UKBA in New York! It was getting a bit nerve wracking: we had a 2 week period to get them submitted, and the parcel company shipping my documents to her seemed to temporarily forget about my shipment (for like a whole weekend). Calls and chasing it up got it sorted, and I'll be getting a refund, and they got to her in time, and FedEx say all our documents are now in the hands of the UKBA :-)

So now....we wait! We haven't had the confirmation email to say "we have your documents" yet, but I've heard mixed reports about people actually getting that email, but now we just have to wait....an unknown amount of time for a decision. We sent them SO much documentation, of my finances, our relationship, call logs, email logs, you name it. I don't see any reason for them to say no.

And then we can be together at last! It hardly seems real still!

Got the email saying the documents had been received and opened yesterday (that's one week after Fedex had actually had them delivered :P). Supposedly we get an email when assigned to an officer (though my internet searching has revealed that that email doesn't always come) and then another email when the decision has been made. Following the link in the email tells me that as of the 12th September, current processing time is 9 (presumably working) days, which is a much more useful guide than the percentages given on the normal UKBA website. (though if we'd paid priority, it would only have been 48 hours!)

So now.....we wait! Here goes....

Good luck!! I received an email telling me that due to the volume of applications, not to expect a response for at least 15 working days, and I ended up having my visa issued after 6 working days
I hope it comes quickly!!!

I was told 15 working days for mine as well, but it ended up being only 7 days, back in October 2010. I hope yours is speedy too!

Now we're doing the permanent immigration US visa app (we got married in the UK, but he's coming to the US to live with me)... that's a whole different beast, lol! We've been lucky and have moved quickly with that too- a mere 7 months!!

Was planning to meet my long distance love this Sept He applied for a tourist visa and was denied
I sent invitation but I could not send a support document because I don't make enough money . We both were so upset
He lives in Romania I live in Kentucky Right now I feel so lonely I could use some advice Please I can't afford to visit at this point What do I do??

I think maybe you should start your own thread asking for advice? People probably won't see that one here. I'm sorry for your disappointment :-(

In my news, yesterday we got the email saying we were assigned an officer! Yay! And the site says times are down to 6 days.... But no idea if that's from last week's email or from when they start the officer on our case. Either way, not long!

Email received! Visa issued! Should all arrive back with her tomorrow! WHOOOOOOOOOOO!

Provisional date: 3 weeks today she flies out

Yes, we were very pleased that the actual turn around was much less than the vague "oh it'll be sometime between 15 days and 12 weeks" that the UK website suggested :P
