Look! A Hidden Title! :D (Silly Gift Idea)

The only thing about having your SO on this forum is anytime you want to share your gift ideas, you must forewarn them not to go looking for the post Good thing I trust him enough not to want to ruin his own surprises.

Anyway, it's called a Survival Kit. My Mum was given one of these years ago, I then stole the idea for at least 4 friends in the past, had since forgotten about it, considered making one at Christmas, forgot about it, and I've just remembered about it again and have decided to do it for my SO. Hoping it will cheer him up a bit as he's going through a hard time right now, and I just thought I'd share the idea Pretty simple. What it is: stupid, ridiculous, corny little gifts all packed into a little bag with a note saying what each thing means. Here are some great examples: https://sunflowerfriends.com/shop/in...dex&cPath=2_11

They can be made for friends, parents, boy/girlfriends, grandparents, teachers, etc etc. And I wanted to make a Long Distance one! Unfortunately I've also spent way too much in postage lately, especially at Valentines, and because I've also done up a fancy envelope... well, I'm wanting it to all fit into said envelope, so nothing bulky. But I'll post all the ideas I've had if anyone else wants to use them, and if anyone has any additional ideas that would be great These are mostly just taken from the others I've seen in my googling, but I'll be trying to change the words a bit on some of them to make them more distance-related maybe.

Paperclip - To always keep us together, no matter how far.
Sunshine - To brighten your day.
Star - To keep our future shining bright.
Toothpick – To help pick out the best in us.
Smiley – Because you make me smile/smiles are contagious.
Globe – You mean the world to me.
Heart – Because you’re always in my heart.
Tissue – To wipe away tears of joy and sadness.
Thread – Friendship ties our hearts together.
Band-aid – For when it hurts.
Rubber band – To help you stretch beyond your dreams.
Coin – Because you are worth every cent.

Annd the bulky stuff I won't be including

Candle - You light up my life.
    Chocolate/Sweets/Candy - You're worth a mint, chocolate kisses, you're a lifesaver, etc.
Match – Because we’re a perfect match. (Okay, this isn't bulky but for some reason I'm paranoid about sending a match in an envelope? xD)
Key – A reminder that you hold the key to my heart.
CD – A reminder that one day we’ll be Close Distance.

Was considering doing a handprint as well, but I wasn't sure on a quote to include with that... Yeah, I thought it was a silly, fun idea anyway just to show them you're thinking of them and put a smile on their face.

I have seen ideas like this, it is very cute and good for a budget gift!

Funny you mention a hand print; its mine and my SO's 2nd anniversary in about 2 weeks and I sent him a hand print along with some other things.. I don't want to give away what I did with the hand print/what I put with it on the off-chance he might come on LFAD. but yeah.. I'll just say there was a little bit of rhyming involved

Okay, I've cleaned it up a bit and narrowed it to 12 items and as I can't edit original post, thought I'd just post the edits here

A paperclip to always keep us together, no matter how far.
A toothpick to help pick out the best in people, including ourselves.
A star to ensure our future is always bright.
A smile because you make me smile more than anyone in my life.
A thread for the one that ties our hearts together.
A tissue to wipe away the tears of joy and sadness.
A band-aid for when it hurts the most.
A rubber band to keep us stretching beyond our dreams.
A globe because you mean the world to me, and I’ll travel the world to get to you.
A coin because you are worth every cent of the airfare… and more.
A handprint until you can hold my hands for real.
And a heart because no matter what happens, in my heart you’ll stay. Always.

Short, silly and sweet. Hope he likes it!
