    Home made scrape off paint

While browsing the internet I found a recipe for home made scrape off paint (kind of like on lottery tickets) and of course I had to try. Here's the result:

I think it turned out pretty neat I used a piece of wall paper as base but aluminium foil or photo paper should give quite good results as well. The recipe for the paint itself is 2 parts acrylic paint and 1 part fairy liquid (or any other liquid dish soap but fairy was the one I used).

That looks really cool! Did you put the wallpaper on something sturdy like cardboard or something?

No, but I guess you could if you want to have it as a card or painting.

Forgotten where I originally found it by now, probably something like Pinterest... It's easy enough to make and I intend to make quite a few fake lottery tickets using it for my 8 years old brother for a road trip down to Southern Sweden that my family and I are planning in July (with raisins and more lottery tickets and fruit and sweets as prices) to keep him occupied during the long drive down.

Thats pretty cool :o So you scratch it and it reveals the image below? Do you have step-by-step instructions for it?

Unfortunately I don't have any instructions, I did this one by simply mixing the paint with liquid dish soap, coated the wallpaper, printed off the symbol I wanted and cut it out to use as a pattern, put the pattern on the dry paint and traced the edges using a stylus. I then scratched off the paint inside the symbol, kind of like I would have done if I was drawing and colouring in. The paint itself is quite easily scratched off so you'd either have to frame the picture or coat it with some kind of varnish if you want to keep it.
