Should I buy an Xmas present now?

I want to buy my SO a MP3 player for his birthday/xmas. He had one that broke and now he just uses mine, deletes all my songs to put on his music I don't like. I think it's time for his own I want to buy it here in the USA because imported stuff in Costa Rica is superrrr expensive and normally not that great. Since I'm moving there in August, I need to get it before hand. But if I did buy it for him now, I would give it to him right away, so then he probably wouldn't get anything around xmas/his birthday (it's in December). How do you guys feel about that?

The only other thing I can think of is my family is PROBABLY coming to visit for Christmas so they could bring it down with them. That's if they do come to visit. I'm thinking it would be best to just buy it now. So that way I can get my freaking MP3 back!!

I would def buy it now and say it's an early birthday/christmas present, haha i'd say he needs one, but then i'm very you can use my MP3 player and if you touch any of the music on it you are dead (i don't mind if they add their own music as i have 10gb of space).

How about you get it for him now [and give it to him now] and then when Christmas/his birthday came around just get him something small or sentimental?

I vote buy one now and let him know it's an advanced birthday/christmas gift. Maybe you can giftwrap it again at christmas or buy an accessory for it when the time comes.

I think getting it now is a good idea, that way you have yours back, and you don't pay too much for it after you move. And I agree with 13000km, just get him an accessory for it at Christmas time so he's reminded that it was one of his Christmas presents <3

Definitely now! You can give it on Christmas or right away, it's really up to you. But I always second a good deal and surely it'd be a bargain to get it from the States? Andy got me one from eBay - I can't believe how cheap some of the stuff on there is that would cost 3-10 times more in here!
