I'm from Finland and my boyfriend lives in Washington, US, about 4600 miles (or 7200km) away from me. We met back in 2008 on an IRC channel. We had been going there for some time, but were rarely online at the same time because of the 10 hour time difference. Then one time another member of the same community somehow thought that we are a couple, which felt weird because we had barely talked personally and I honestly thought he was a kind of an asshole. ^^' That lead us to finally talking to each other, which instantly turned into public flirting, like this amazingly subtle pick up line:

At first he said a real relationship wouldn't be possible because of the huge distance, and I honestly thought it couldn't work out as well, but he kept talking to me anyway and soon we decided to give it a try. We met for the first time 9 months later, in summer 2009, and we spent the most amazing month together. I flew to see him again during the fall, and now we've got about a month left till he comes to visit me here in Finland.
And me, well.. I'm a lonely 17 year old girl who spends all of her time at home. I love video games with all my heart and aspire to be a video game designer (I've actually got a blog about it called Small Observations, Big Designs, check it out if you like games as well). I'm also interested in music - my favorite artists range from Brandi Carlile to Nine Inch Nails to Nobuo Uematsu - and all kinds of random things like surrealism, geography, writing and myths.
