Hi! I'm LA, I live in Utah. My fiance', Brian currently lives in Australia. We had our 1 year anniversary in August.
Everyone asks how a girl from the states got hooked up with a guy from down under. It took me a long time to stop being bashful about answering that question, but at this point, I look them right in the eye and say, "eHarmony. Yes, I know, online dating seems crazy, but who am I to say how God wanted to introduce us?!?"
After talking online for several months, he came to the states in May. I met him in Vegas, and we proceeded to drive across the country together. We figured if we could survive a 2 week road trip, it was truly meant to be! Turned out to be a perfect crash course in each other, and by the end, he proposed!
The bad news is, since we now have to go thru the process of immigration, he was required to go back to Australia until he was approved for a fiance's visa. It has been 7 1/2 months. *sigh*
Conducting this relationship long distance has been challenging, but not as strange as it may have seemed initially. We talk every day via online video, and I was glad to read the suggestions on this site; we already do a lot of them, but there are several other things I plan to bring up.
