My name is Cataline and I have been coming to this site a lot in the past, it has been tremendously helpful in my LDR adventure, so I decided I might as well join and listen to what everyone else has to say about being in an LDR. I met my sweetheart online almost 3 years ago, we live 703 miles apart but are still very close through the technological wonders of skype, cell phones, email and all that great stuff. We have not met in person yet but will do in January 2013 (it's our birthday gift to each other). I am studying English at university right now while he is on track for the Marines. I am an immigrant and American life still fascinates me, though I do miss my home very much. I have far too many animals for my own good (11) and I am slightly obsessed with the beat generation. It would be lovely to make some new friends

the funny thing is I swore I'd never have an LDR after my mum met my stepdad but things change and you can't help who you fall in love with

having your mum and step dad understanding what you're going through would be a huge support. my stepdad has NO IDEA and makes the most face palm-able comments sometimes.

Haha I wish I had their support...My stepdad doesn't like me in general so we don't speak and mum is very fickle with her feelings about it oddly enough so I keep it to myself
