Long time lurker, occasional poster, and while I've known of this sub-forum, I actually have never introduced myself. I met my SO/fiance online in Second Life four years ago while trying to get into a nursing school that used the computer program for its classes. It was late one night, and he asked me to dance. Normally I would have said no, but as it was late, I was tired, and I had been puked on at work that night, I just gave in and didn't think about it. Well, four years later and we're here. He does computer/IT work in South Carolina, and I'm trying to get a nursing job either where he lives or where I live, having since finished my BSN/RN earlier this year and having passed my boards. He also recently re-opened his computer shop at a downtown location, so he's offline more than he had been, which is kind of nice, but I'm finding myself absolutely bored during the day now. There's only so many times you can apply for the same job and read the same e-mail about how there are hiring freezes.
We've been engaged to be married for three and a half years now, have seen each other once because of finances, and next month we are going to see each other again. Because of medical stuff and finances for both of us, I have not moved down there yet as we had planned. It's been a bit rocky at times, but that's life stuff trying to test us and our response to it. Though it has been long, and there are times where we've both questioned what we've gone through, I'm still thankful for every moment he's around.
