    Hi there, newcomer here

    Hi All

I just signed up and had a little look around, I found lovingfromadistance first with the advice and everything it has, want to keep me and my love's relationship strong.

We only started to be together on the 09.11.12 last month, I realise it's not so long ago, but the day we met in Thailand was just amazing, we just clicked and fell for each other, we spent near a month living together in Thailand while I was there on holiday, you can't pick who you fall for and I have fallen for her big time, I am so in love, and so is she, we are both working hard right now to be together. I am not sure if any of you are aware but it is damn near impossible to move to Thailand unless you have a lot of money or are in a professional career, otherwise I would be there already lol.

Only option is for her to come to the UK, which is very different and much colder, but she is more than happy to do this! Which is great. I am returning to Thailand in May (144 days and counting) to see her for 2.5 weeks, and we are currently working on a visa so she will come home to the UK with me for up to 6months! (GREAT!) I cannot wait, but until then, it's the waiting game, I keep myself busy by working an absurd amount of overtime, I get money and I am busy, maybe trying not to think of her so much (but I'm in work right now as it happens and still clearly thinking of her haha).

Anyway, I wake at 6am everyday and ring her for 30mins before I go to work (6am for me is 1pm for her) so we talk, then I ring her on my lunch break 1.30PM, or 8.30pm for her) then she stays up till 1AM her time which is when I finish work here at 6PM, (confused yet?) and we talk for an hour or 2, but tomorrow, she is moving back to her hometown to live with her parents and start a new job, meaning she will work approx 7 - 8 everyday, I can't call her when I wake anymore (ok she will have lunchtime but she needs to use this to eat too). I will call her on my lunch which will be 8.30PM for her so she will have finished work, but she will have to go to bed earlier than usual and cannot stay up so late for me to call after work. So from here on it gets a little harder and I know I will miss her that much more.

I know to be negative is not good, missing her and everything, I think of the good times we have and watch videos of us together and pictures. I try to keep my chin up, she doesn't have the internet so this will be hard, but I'm thinking of getting her the internet and paying for it.

She doesn't come from a ring family or a poor family, but I don't know how much of the Thai culture you all understand, they don't have pensions etc, the children take care of the parents, so she and her brothers need to provide for them, of course when she comes here for 6months, and when she moves here permanently she still needs to provide, which of course falls to me to help out, I have no issue doing this, I'm not rich but I earn enough and with overtime too it helps.

Anyway, I'm happy to be hear, it's nice to know I'm not the only person in this situation, I think we all understand it's hard but love conquers all right? even distance! It'll be nice to talk to people and listen to experiences, will be a good help in the hard times!

    Welcome!!! Goodluck with your relationship

i am sure everything will eventually work out with the phone calling, it takes time to adjust to a close distance relationship but eventually you will get there and it will be well worth all the troubles initially

          Thank you for the welcome

Amelia: Thanks for the words of encouragement, very important to have support at a time like this, my family are good about it too so that's good, they understand you have to do what makes you happy! As for the close distance, we are great together you know, its just the long distance, stroll on 144 days not that I'm counting haha , be nice to chat more anyway if you want to drop me a message

Verojoon: That is EXACTLY what I need mate, somewhere to keep me sane, if I let myself stew and thing of her all the time I WILL crack lol. like today have been particularly hard as I know it's the last day I can talk to her as much as possible, but just hearing her voice on my lunch (about 30mins ago), has calmed me down and made me happy again :P, same as Amelia mate be nice to chat and trade stories experiences so if you fancy can drop me a message!

Thank you for your welcome too stephanieaz, happy to be here !
