    Hello from Texas :)

    Hi everyone,

    I was browsing for some LDR inspirational quotes today and I saw the link to the forum and decided to give it a try. I figured, who else could better understand what I am going through than people who are going through the same thing. I met my boyfriend online and a month later traveled to Serbia so that we could meet in person. I enjoyed the trip and loved going back home to visit. We had a great time together and have decided to continue our relationship. We now stay in touch via skype and facebook. I plan on going back to visit him in the summer. To be honest, sometimes it gets lonely and 7 hour time difference does not help at all. We love each other and hope to be able to make it through time and distance. Our plan is to get married next time I go over there so that I can bring him home with me.

    Welcome! We're glad to have you! We all know what it's like to be lonely, it does get really hard. You can make it as long as you both work at it and really love each other. When it comes to getting married and bringing him home, just remember there are immigration laws, I know first hand because I've been working on the visa for it lol. If you need any advice, let me know!

          Wonderful to get married and bring him back with you -- has he applied for the visa to live here?
          February 2012 -- met online
          August 2012 -- he said "I love you."
          April 2013 -- met in person
          June 2013 -- broke up
          July 2013 -- back together
          August 2013 -- 2nd visit
          October 20, 2013 -- He proposed!
          April 22, 2014 -- Married/closed the distance!

            Not just yet. We were thinking about marrying over there and have him apply for a spousal visa. I am thinking that would make the process of getting one quicker.

                      *About the spousal visa, the process would take the same time We looked into that as well but it wasn't going to be any quicker. So we decided to go the K-1 route. Good luck with whatever you do though!
