Just thought I would introduce myself and tell our story...
I was with the love of my life for 8 years, married for almost 5, and widowed before my 29th birthday. Soon after, my best friend broke up with his live-in bf and we moved in together. One day, he realized that we were in a rut and I was quickly becoming his "hag". It scared the crap out of the both of us, so we decided to try out OKcupid.
I was only on the site for a month or two till I met by bf. We chatted online for about a month and then agreed to meet in person. For the first 4 months of our relationship he was at school which was only 80 miles away. We would meet up half way for dates and eventually started alternating weekends to seeing eachother. After the spring semester was over he had to take a few summer classes to graduate. He took a part time job close to me and stayed with me the 4-5 days a week that he did not have classes. When summer classes ended he moved 8 hours away to work on starting a career.
I have all intentions of moving with him as soon as I can tie up my loose ends here. But this means that we will be apart for most likely 5 months after pretty much living together for the past 4. We are planning on getting married in Vegas (more like eloping) in April, but decided not to do the whole engagment thing. We have already both been there done that and see no reason to be so public about the details of our relationship.
So yeah thats me! Just looking to get some ideas on how to stay sane doing this LDR thing
