    Hello from North Carolina!

Hello everyone! I'm so glad I found this site! I have been so nervous about this long distance, and thought I had no one to discuss things with. A little bit about me and my SO, we have been living together for about 2 months, and he got the call of a new job. Right now, I am in school, work full time, and have a 7 year old daughter going into 2nd grade. So, you can see why it is just an impossible decision to just pick up and go with him right now. (not to mention, we had only a couple of weeks to prepare and we were nowhere near financially ready for such a big move!!)

With all that being said, I've read some of the wonderful stories you all have, and it gives me a whole new hope that we are going to be fine. It takes hard work, loyalty and an endless amount of communication but I'm looking forward to the stronger bond we will have over this. We are hoping that within 6 months to a year, we are ready for me and my daughter to move out there. So, fingers crossed

Looking forward to ready more on here!!

Thank you! Yes, I agree, it definitely sucks. I am such a nerd about things and research all the time about the benefits and ways to keep a long distance relationship strong. Long distance relationships have such a higher rate of being successful because you appreciate each other more and have more meaningful conversations. So that definitely helps with this situation! Good luck to you and your's. Hopefully you see each other soon!!

Haha you did exactly what i did dont't worry i always search stuff But you are right. We appreciate eachother way more than people who live right around the corner from one another. The time you do spend together is worth the time you have to spend apart after. Thats what i like to tell myself anyway it helps!! Thank you Sweetie. 2 months down from the last time i saw him and another 4 more to go! His spending christmas here in the UK before him getting deployed in June! Possibly sqeezing in another visit between christmas and June though! Fingers crossed! If you need someone to vent too .. you know where i am

Welcome! I'm from North Carolina and my SO is also from Texas. I was nervous about being long distance too. It's hard and takes a lot of work. Once I found the site and started reading, I found encouragement and support! Actually took my SO to the airport 2 days ago after a month together. It's hard but so worth it!

Oh wow, really? That's crazy, found someone that knows the distance! We lived together for over 2 months before he got the new job and moved to TX, so I've had a REALLY hard time readjusting. I wouldn't change any of it though, I'm holding it together and staying strong That's fantastic you got to spend a month together. Does he normally come out here or do you fly out there as well?
