    Hello from Chicago!

My husband and I have been together for 10 years, married for 8, and he was just offered a new job (his dream job, actually) in Washington, D.C. I love my job here and I had told him not to apply unless he could do telecommuting. He applied and it turns out telecommuting is not an option right now, but his supervisor told him it totally will be sometime in the quasi-near future.

So he's going to D.C., I'm staying here, and at first I was completely devastated. But looking through the threads here has made me feel so much better. So many of you are going through this and making it work, and it definitely makes me feel less alone. Thanks for sharing all your stories.
