Hi, my name is Dave.

I recently began emailing a widow who lives 3,500 miles from me. I am also a widower, so we understand each others feelings and have grown to love each other. We have met in person, and we are compatible. I like her kids too, and she is good with the way we get along. It's been a whirl wind.

I signed up to get advice and ideas on how to keep things going until one of us can make a move to be near the other, and ultimately get married (yeah, I know it's soon, but it's a wid thing).

Appreciate any advice in advance that you good folks will be able to give me!

My SO is a widower, and I'm divorced. It's nice to have another shot at love. As the woman in a ldr, I'd like to say it's most important to reassure your lady that you care. It's so easy for us girls to get insecure. Every chance you can get, let her know you care. Use emails, texts, calls, Skype, snail mail (written letters), little gifts, and verbal reassurances mean more than you can know. Fill in any blanks. By that I mean, don't assume she knows anything. If you aren't in touch for a while, she might jump to the wrong conclusions.

Also, be prepared for problems with any children you two have. They can seem all supportive, but change later. Some children are very worried about their share of estates. It's good to talk about all that early.

Have fun with one another. Make time to do something fun. I've enjoyed playing chess with my Honey online and watching movies together. Anything that connects the two of you is good.
